MPJ Recruitment are proud to be working with a reputable business based in the Warrington area who are currently searching for a Risk & Compliance Manager.
You will be working for leading lender within the financial services sector who are currently lending roughly £180m per annum, due to growth this will soon exceed £200m. The Risk & Compliance Manager is responsible for the following functions:
Risk Management:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating risks, with a focus on operations and interactions with customers and debtors.
- Utilize expertise in credit risk to manage new customer/deal risks, minimizing existing bad debt, potential fraud and ensuring timely collection.
- Regularly analyse key debtors, identify the main reasons for outstanding amounts, and assess the performance and volume trends of top customers to inform risk management strategies.
Compliance Oversight:
- Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies, plus alignment if required with FCA guidelines.
- Review and interpret regulatory developments, advising on their impact and guiding business changes accordingly.
- Collaborate with the wider business in creating and updating compliance policies and procedures to reflect current regulatory requirements.
- Lead a compliance agenda and act as an commercially balanced advocate for the function right across ACG.
Data Governance:
- Manage data governance activities to improve data quality, consistency, and governance, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and enhancing business trust in data.
- Undertake data governance audits in collaboration with the Operations team.
- Support the creation of a data governance analyst to deliver ACG wide requirements.
Monitoring, Reporting, and Auditing:
- Establish processes for regular monitoring, reporting and auditing of risk and compliance issues, ensuring alignment with established frameworks.
- Conduct internal audits to review compliance with risk management and compliance standards, provide advice and challenge to the business in the further enhancement of it’s control environment.
Training and Awareness:
- Develop and deliver training programs to ensure employees understand and adhere to compliance, risk management, and data governance policies.
- Oversee compliance related training adherence to industry standard practice.
Stakeholder Engagement and Strategic Advice:
- Act as the primary contact for regulatory bodies, solicitors, and external stakeholders on risk and compliance matters.
- Provide strategic advice to board members, Managing Director and senior management on risk, compliance, and regulatory changes.
- Create an audit, risk and compliance committee to facilitate required updates or changes.
