Resourced Provision Teaching Assistant Required in Leeds

About the role:

At Engage Education, we’ve specialised in recruiting teaching assistants for over a decade, so we know a bit about finding the ideal school for you. We’re currently looking for an enthusiastic Resourced Provision Teaching Assistant to work with primary aged pupils.

A resourced provision is based at a mainstream primary school but holds a number of pupils with special educational needs. They may be in the resourced provision because their needs are too complex to be within the mainstream classroom and they may be waiting for a place within a special educational needs school.

Special needs that are often found within a resourced provision;- Autism- ADHD- Global Development Delay- Medical needs such as; Epilepsy, Diabetes, Cerebral Palsy, Wheelchair bound etc- Non-verbal- Speech and Language- Visual and hearing impairments- SEMH and challenging behaviours- PMLD

Our team has built an excellent reputation in the local area, and we’re looking for more high-quality teaching assistants to work with these schools to positively impact the progress and attainment of their pupils.

Our Resourced Provision Teaching Assistants’ duties can include:

  • Working with small groups of pupils
  • Working on a one-to-one basis with children with additional needs
  • Providing personal and emotional care for pupils when needed
  • Managing classroom behaviour
  • Providing intervention/SATS support for students

The ideal applicant will have:

  • Some experience working with young children or in a UK school setting within the last 2 years
  • A real passion for education and improving the attainment of pupils
  • Experience with complex needs
  • Bags of creativity for stimulating and engaging pupils’
  • Level 3 support staff qualification is desired but is not essential providing you have professional Special Needs experience
