Residential Childcare Practitioners
Are you a compassionate and dedicated professional with a passion for helping young people thrive? We are currently looking for experienced Residential Childcare Practitioners to join established teams in residential homes we support. This is a unique opportunity to use your skills to provide a safe, stable, and supportive environment for children and young people.
What We're Looking For
- Essential Qualities: We are seeking individuals who are empathetic, resilient, and patient, with a genuine commitment to the well-being of children and young people. You must be an effective communicator and a collaborative team player.
- Experience and Qualifications: An SVQ in Social Services (Children and Young People) or a similar qualification is highly desirable. At least one year of experience in residential childcare is essential
- Essential Requirements for the role: A full UK driving licence and unrestricted UK working rights is essential for this role
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will be centered on the needs of the young people in your care. These include:
- Direct Care & Support: Providing day-to-day emotional, social, and practical support to young people, assisting with personal care, and promoting independence.
- Building Relationships: Developing positive, therapeutic relationships with young people and acting as a consistent, nurturing adult in their lives.
- Care Planning: Contributing to and implementing individual care plans, ensuring each young person's needs are met in line with their specific goals and requirements.
- Safeguarding: Upholding and promoting the highest standards of safeguarding and child protection, acting in the best interests of the young people at all times.
- Administration: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, including daily logs, incident reports, and care plan updates.
- Collaboration: Working effectively with a multi-disciplinary team, including social workers, teachers, and other professionals, to ensure a coordinated approach to care.
