The London Borough of Tower Hamlets is seeking an experienced Repairs Team Leader to join our Housing Repairs Service on a 12-month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a leadership role within a busy and dynamic team, helping us to deliver an excellent, customer-focused repairs service to residents.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead, motivate, and support a team of repairs operatives and coordinators to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
Monitor and manage day-to-day repairs operations, ensuring work is completed to the highest standard and within agreed timescales.
Act as the first point of escalation for complex repair issues and customer queries.
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, council policies, and industry standards.
Use performance data and reporting tools to drive service improvements.
Work closely with contractors, stakeholders, and residents to maintain positive working relationships and high levels of satisfaction.
Proven track record in managing or supervising a repairs/maintenance team within social housing or a similar environment.
Strong knowledge of housing repairs, maintenance processes, and health & safety legislation.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines.
IT literate, with experience using housing management or repairs systems.
