We are seeking a highly motivated Repairs Team Coordinator (Gas) to join our Repairs & Maintenance team in Wakefield. This key role involves supervising and coordinating a team of technicians and subcontractors delivering repairs, maintenance, voids, and in-house investment works primarily across domestic dwellings, investment works primarily across domestic dwellings, although most of our properties still have gas systems, our portfolio is changing as we move towards more sustainable heating sources such as heat pumps so experience in this area would be useful. You'll be responsible for ensuring works are completed to high-quality standards, in line with health and safety regulations, and within set timescales. You'll monitor performance, support staff development, and contribute to service improvements and new ways of working. A strong commitment to delivering a customer-focused, efficient, and right-first-time service is essential. Daily supervision of lead technician, technicians and subcontractors under their management To control on a day-to-day basis overhead expenditure directly connected with labour, plant and materials with an emphasis on VFM. To be responsible for the support and coordination of the technicians providing the Together Housing Group out of hours emergency rota. You will be included in the emergency on-call rota, which requires you to be available for one week every eight weeks. Additionally, participation in the managers' call-out rota is expected. Advise the Property Managers of occasions and reasons where sub-contractor labour may be required. Supervise work and approve payments Arranging quotations from sub-contractors for specialist works, coordinate with the planners in regard to placing the works order. Ensure that any variation between works ordered and those carried out are recorded on the work order to enable the correct repair information is captured. Monitor workmanship at all times to ensure that only work of a satisfactory quality is being produced. Ensure that all complaints are dealt with fully, promptly and professionally. Ensure the targets relating to the performance of the Repair and Maintenance section are achieved. To manage staff to complete the maintenance tasks achieving our agreed ‘one' standard in relation to quality. Including all the relevant performance indicators and service standards. Investigate and provide training and development opportunities for technicians, ensuring they stay current with renewable sustainable technologies while supporting their growth through development and training initiatives. To ensure that Health & Safety at work Act 1974, (including accident investigation and RIDDOR reportable accidents), CDM Regulations and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 2002 are implemented and complied with. A full manual UK driving license NVQ Level 3 or a comparable qualification in the applicable gas field Proven experience in effectively managing a team of gas technicians Experience of managing to ensure business targets are met BenefitsIn return, we are offering the successful candidate in the Repairs Team Coordinator (Gas) role: Starting salary: £39,298 per annum, This is a hybrid position, requiring you to work approximately three days a week in the office or on-site, while the remaining two days will be spent working from home. 27 days annual leave (rising to 32 over 5 years' service) + bank holidays You will be required to work a total of 37 hours each week, with a typical schedule running from Monday to Thursday, 08:00 to 16:00, and on Friday from 08:00 to 15:30. Scheduled can be between 08:00 and 19:30 across any five days from Monday to Saturday. The exact schedule will depend on business needs at the time.
