Rents and Service Charge Accountant

  • Full time 35 hours per week
  • Permanent
  • Hybrid working (4 days a month in the office)
  • Salary - £43,800.00 pa
  • Interview dates: w/c 07 May

We are small housing association based in Croydon with big goals, employing just over 50 members of staff looking after 1600 homes. We have an exciting opportunity to join our Finance Team.

What you will achieve in the role - As our Rents and Service Charge Account, you will be someone to keep our rents and service charges under close control in order to support value for money for our residents. Within your role you will have overall responsibility of the Rent and Service Charges function which includes producing accurate and timely estimates and actuals, for the year, ensuring reliable billing information of service charge costs to leaseholders and our other residents. A key element of this role is working to improve the processes of service charges within our housing management system (CX). This will involve testing, training and working closely with our housing management team whilst being the lead authority on service charge legislation

What you’ll bring to ccha - You’ll be a qualified or part-qualified accountant, keen to further develop your accounting skills and knowledge on rent and service charge setting and legislation as well as service area improvements. You will possess a good understanding of rent setting and service charges, with experience of working in the HA sector, to deliver great service to every customer, every time. Your knowledge, technical expertise and enthusiasm will enable you to do your job with excellence. This means innovative thinking around our processes and systems in order to drive service improvements which are based on increased productivity and performance

Key skills required:

  • Part qualified/Qualified CCAB Accountant
  • Service Charge estimates and actuals experience
  • Exemplary communication skills
  • critical thinking and the ability to problem solve
  • positive attitude
  • Cross team working
