Rent and Service Charge Officer - Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited : Job Details

Your new companyHays are pleased to be working with a large housing organisation who require some temporary support.

Your new roleYour role as a Rent and Service Charge Officer will consist of:

• Complete appropriate calculations and reconciliations to ensure that customer rent and service charges are applied within the financial system in an accurate and timely manner.
• Post all receipts and appropriate rent adjustments in an accurate and timely manner.
• Maintain the rent suspense account, allocating payments and rent refunds on request.
• Ensure that customer related charge increases are applied correctly to accounts and undertake the recalculation of Direct Debits.
• Reconcile accounts to ensure integrity of the rent accounting systems, resolving accounting errors or identifying system errors which need further resolution.
• Undertake self-audit procedures to ensure compliance to Financial Standing Orders with relevant policies and procedures, including cash handling, vouchers and any other requirements.
• Liaise with the sales team, income, and legal team to assist with arrears, property sales, completions and disposal, ensuring that funds are allocated timely.
• General administration, ensuring the smooth operation of the wider team.

What you'll need to succeedYou will have a good understanding of reconciliation and ideally be AAT qual or currently studying AAT. Looking for an individual who possesses speed, accuracy and is able to deal with large sums of data and numbers. Housing experience would be desirable but not necessarily essential. Good customer service skills, experience of working towards deadlines. You will also have the ability to develop and deliver effective control systems, including reconciliation of accounts, and to understand the impact of transactions on other areas within Finance and other departments.What you'll get in return
