Regulatory Reporting Accountant – London (Hybrid)Job descriptionBDO Regulatory Solutions are currently recruiting for a Regulatory Reporting Accountant to join our client, a leading financial services firm, based in London.We are offering an initial 6-month contract starting at the beginning of October (with flexibility to start later if needed), 37.5 hours per week, inside IR35 via an Umbrella company.About the role:This role sits within the Group Reporting team during a Finance Transformation programme and ERP/WorkDay rollout. It covers the regulatory reporting responsibilities while some of the permanent team are seconded to the programme. The successful candidate will need to work with a high degree of autonomy, managing SFCR and QRT reporting from start to finish, while being comfortable working with multiple spreadsheets during the transition period.Key responsibilities include;
- Deliver accurate, timely and insightful financial reporting for the group and its businesses.
- Support the delivery of the Group’s regulatory reporting for annual and quarterly submissions, sourcing, analysing and preparing financial information for Solvency II returns.
- Provide support to the external auditor to ensure efficient and surprise-free solvency assurance engagements.
- Assist in preparing narrative reporting for regulatory reporting, including the Solvency and Financial Condition Report (SFCR) and Board papers.
- Contribute to accounting judgements and support Group Governance requirements related to regulatory reporting.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
- Engage with stakeholders regularly, ensuring strong collaboration across the business.
- Work comfortably with multiple spreadsheets during ERP/WorkDay rollout, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Support a continuous improvement culture within the Group Reporting team and the wider finance function.
About you:We’re looking for a qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with experience in Solvency II (IFRS experience beneficial but not essential). You should be comfortable working with multiple spreadsheets, highly skilled in Excel, and able to work autonomously without micro-management. Strong stakeholder management, analytical, and numerical skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret and apply accounting and regulatory requirements.
