You will play a pivotal part in supporting the Sales & Trading divisions across EMEA, advising on complex legal and regulatory matters that are critical to the organisation's ongoing success. The position is designed for an experienced lawyer who thrives in a collaborative, supportive environment where your expertise will be valued.What you'll do:* Provide comprehensive legal advice on bespoke transactions as well as template transaction documentation, terms of business, and regulatory disclosures relevant to Sales & Trading divisions.* Advise on the development of new product structures for distribution across EMEA, focusing on managing legal and reputational risk while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.* Interpret and communicate the scope and impact of new and existing EU and UK regulations, particularly MiFID II, including pre- and post-trade reporting requirements for various asset classes.* Collaborate with colleagues from Technology, Operations, Compliance, COOs, and Business Control Units to ensure practical implementation of regulatory change projects across multiple jurisdictions.* Participate in regular industry roundtables and consultations to stay abreast of evolving regulatory landscapes and contribute to shaping best practices within the sector.* Support salesforce and traders based throughout EMEA by providing timely guidance on legal questions arising from day-to-day business activities.* Assist in developing training programmes aimed at enhancing awareness of legal risks and regulatory obligations among business units.* Contribute to maintaining cooperative relationships with governmental policy makers as well as regulatory and self-regulatory agencies governing the firm's operations.* Ensure that all advice provided aligns with the highest standards of integrity while protecting the organisation from potential sanctions or reputational harm.What you bring:* Previous experience working within a major law firm or as an in-house lawyer at a sell-side or buy-side financial institution is essential for this position.* A strong background in regulatory matters is required, with proven ability to assimilate complex information quickly and present it clearly to non-legal audiences.* In-depth knowledge of regulations applicable to sales and trading businesses in both the UK and EMEA regions is vital, especially regarding MiFID II requirements.* Significant hands-on experience dealing with OTC derivatives across multiple asset classes such as equities, credit, rates, or securitised derivatives like CLNs or retail structured products is highly desirable.* Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams spanning different functions and jurisdictions is important for success.* English law qualification is required; qualifications from other jurisdictions may be considered if accompanied by relevant experience.What sets this company apart:This organisation stands out as one of the world's foremost financial institutions due to its unwavering commitment to integrity, excellence, and teamwork.
