Job Description :

Nurtured Talent International is seeking to appoint the role of Registered Manager.

Our client is seeking people with experience of supporting young people within care to develop emotional resilience to achieve their full potential in all areas of their lives and ensuring their rights are promoted.

  • Location: Stoke-on-Trent (ST1)

  • Permanent role

  • Competitive salary : £45,000-£55,000 per annum, excluding bonus.

  • Driving license required

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To play a fundamental / lead role in the setup process to ensure the company is OFSTED ready

  • To ensure that the Children’s Home provision meets with required inspection standards under OFSTED and exceed regulations, and is delivered in accordance with the Children’s Homes Regulations in addition to being compliant with any new policy and/or guidance which may come into force

  • Knowledge of Child Protection and Safeguarding

  • Commitment to actively promoting the rights of young people as individuals

  • To ensure positive outcomes are achieved through the delivery of high-quality care and support

  • Continuously assess the needs of children and young people, developing specific plans for individualised service provision

  • To run the service in an efficient and responsible manner

  • Conduct regular reviews and appraisals at appropriate intervals to monitor and address staff performance

  • Make sure all reports are accurately written and up to date

  • To provide effective leadership, governance and overall management, it is the Registered Manager’s responsibility to secure, sustain and promote the reputation of the children’s home.

  • Conduct and/or ensure risk assessments are carried out in respect of any activity undertaken by the child or staff in relation to their duties

  • To develop a culture of continuous quality improvement using the framework guidelines

  • Check and monitor all staff records in relation to daily tasks, housekeeping, health and hygiene

  • Build positive relationships with key stakeholders and the community

  • Provision of out of hours cover on a rota basis to offer appropriate management support as necessary

What we look for:

  • A minimum of 3 years as a Registered Manager or a Deputy Manager in a Residential Children’s Services and substantial experience in the industry

  • Experience of working in a similar setting-working with service users with EBD and with challenging behavior

  • We look for individuals who hold a Level 3 in Children and Young People Workforce qualification or equivalent; and either achieved or working towards a NVQ or Diploma Level 5 in Leadership for Health & Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services

  • You will have strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
