Functional Skills English TutorSalary Range: £30,722.74 to £37,059.78Location: Islington, North LondonJob Type: Full-time, PermanentWe are seeking a dedicated Functional Skills English Tutor to join our team within offender learning in Islington. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on the lives of learners, aiding their personal development and helping them contribute positively to their communities.Day-to-day of the role:

• Inspire learners by raising their expectations and aspirations, motivating them to take ownership of their learning journey.
• Deliver both accredited and non-accredited programmes, tailored to the needs and interests of the learners.
• Engage closely with learners to develop personalised learning plans that equip them with the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed for positive progression.
• Foster an engaging and supportive learning environment to aid both academic and personal growth.
• Monitor and assess learners’ progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance to support their development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Hold a minimum of Level 2 in Maths and English (GCSE grades 9 to 4 or A* to C or equivalent).
• A qualification in the specialist subject area of Functional Skills English.
• A proven track record of effective teaching within the subject specialism.
• A Level 5 teaching qualification or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
