About the Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate interested in a permanent, customer facing role – you will be required to demonstrate excellent commitment to customer service, and have a flexible, friendly, and enthusiastic attitude to your work.  You will be the sort of person who can deliver to tight deadlines and work equally well as a team member or on your own. 

A geographical knowledge of the Edinburgh area and a clean driving licence would be beneficial – ideally you would also have experience driving 3.5T vehicles.

Main tasks and activities

• Safely operate vehicle and manage workload to complete all collections on time.
• Record collection data on handheld mobile technology.
• Establish rapport with clients in an open and engaging manner, maintaining courteous and positive disposition at all times.
• Identify opportunities to deliver additional services.
• Communicate effectively on a day to day basis, understand agreed service levels and ensure these are upheld.
• Support other team members as directed by line manager.

Experience

• Commitment to customer service and safe working practices
• Previous experience of driving 3.5t vehicles is advantageous
• Familiarity with local roads and routes is beneficial
• Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members

Requirements

• Valid driver licence with a clean driving record
• Must be able to pass a background check and health screening
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate collection records
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet agreed service levels

• Starting salary based on the Real Living Wage (£12 per hour)
