Are you a recruiter who’s ready for something a little different? This role is similar to recruitment in many ways, sourcing opportunities, engaging with employers, matching people into roles, but instead of filling vacancies for clients, you’ll be helping young people with additional needs take their first step into the world of work. This position sits within a Supported Internship programme in the High Wycombe and Aylesbury area, supporting 16–24 year olds with an EHCP. The programme combines classroom learning (maths, English, and employability skills) with real work experience, and has an excellent track record of young people progressing into paid employment. What you’ll be doing:
- Using your engagement skills to approach and build relationships with local employers
- Creating supported work experience placements and explaining the benefits of employing a young person with a neurodiverse profile
- Matching young people into placements and helping them succeed day to day, breaking tasks down and coaching them in the workplace
- Travel training and ensuring they can get to and from work independently
- Keeping families updated on progress
Why this role is differentIf you’ve enjoyed recruitment but would like a change, this role offers the chance to keep using your people and relationship-building skills, while making a tangible difference in young people’s lives. You’re not chasing KPIs or sales targets — instead, you’re opening doors for young people who need an extra hand to get into work.About youWe are looking for someone who has a background in recruitment, employer engagement or careers advice, and who enjoys working with people.
