People Administrator (Recruitment & Selection)

We are seeking a dedicated People Administrator / HR Assistant to support the recruitment and selection processes of a leading public sector organisation in Sheffield. This role is based in the People department and offers hybrid working options. The successful candidate will manage systems, records, and administrative tasks efficiently and accurately, contributing to the smooth operation of our recruitment activities.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage office systems and recruitment records securely and confidentially.
- Handle recruitment tasks for both internal and external candidates.
- Collect and report recruitment-related data.
- Process payroll changes and liaise with the payroll team.
- Enter data and manage invoices for the People function.
- Check data quality and maintain filing systems.
- Respond to recruitment queries and support candidates and managers.
- Conduct right-to-work and disclosure checks.
- Help organise recruitment events.
- Support other People Administrators when needed.
- Participate in performance reviews and training.
- Follow equality, diversity, health & safety policies.
- Ensure data protection compliance.
- Contribute to continuous professional development (CPD).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of HR functions and policies is desirable
- Proven experience in admin systems and procedures, customer service, and team collaboration.
- Strong accuracy and efficiency with intermediate IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
