Our client, a well-regarded nursery school in South West London, is seeking a Receptionist to join their team on a temporary basis. Key Responsibilities
Reception & Front Office Duties
- Act as the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and parents
- Manage telephone and face-to-face enquiries professionally
- Sign in visitors/contractors and issue safeguarding and evacuation information
- Support arrangements for external visits and stakeholder meetings
Administrative Support
- Provide general administrative assistance including photocopying, filing, emailing, and form completion
- Maintain manual and digital records using SIMS.net and other IT systems
- Handle mail distribution and routine data entry tasks
- Assist with attendance and school meal registers
Resources & Financial Tasks
- Operate standard office equipment (PC, photocopier, scanner)
- Organise and store supplies securely
- Support basic financial administration such as collecting dinner money and fundraising contributions
Pupil Welfare
- Provide basic first aid and welfare support to pupils
- Liaise with parents and staff regarding pupil wellbeing
Safeguarding & Compliance
- Adhere to child protection, health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection policies
- Report safeguarding concerns appropriately
- Support the school’s inclusive ethos and equal opportunities framework
Person Specification
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience in general administrative work
- NVQ Level 1 or equivalent qualification or relevant experience

- Strong IT and keyboard skills
- Good literacy and numeracy
- Ability to relate well to children and adults
- Commitment to professional development and teamwork
- Understanding of child protection and safeguarding principles
