R&D Technologist - Elevation Recruitment Group : Job Details

Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting for a leading, innovative manufacturing business who are looking to appoint an R&D Technologist to join their close-knit team at their Derbyshire site.

As the R&D Technologist you will:

• Ensure safe working practices across laboratory and production environments
• Apply expertise in colour theory, dyeing techniques, and colourfastness to support product development and manufacturing
• Evaluate raw materials, understanding their properties and performance under different processing conditions
• Provide technical support to production, including problem solving and guidance on process improvements
• Operate laboratory and pilot-scale equipment safely and efficiently
• Drive R&D projects independently and collaboratively to meet business deadlines
• Communicate effectively across departments, sharing technical insights and innovative solutions
• Contribute to the development of new products and continuous improvement initiatives

To be considered for the R&D Technologist role you will need:

• A degree or higher qualification in a science-based discipline
• Strong technical understanding of raw materials, R&D processes, and laboratory equipment, with safe working practices and experimental design skills
• Experience managing projects, planning and prioritising multiple tasks to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively
• High attention to detail in laboratory work, documentation, and quality control
• Strong analytical skills to interpret data, troubleshoot, and recommend solutions
• A curious and innovative mindset to develop novel ideas and products
• Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Ability to work both autonomously and within cross-functional teams
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Experience within a manufacturing environment is desirable
• Textile dyeing or colourist experience would be advantageous
