R&D Polymers Process Engineer - PHA

Circa £65,000 + Permanent, Progression, Hybrid

Are you in R&D with over 5 years of polymer materials experience and want to join a company leading innovation and development of sustainable packaging solutions?

This rare technical and autonomous R&D role allows you to develop and scale production using natural and biodegradable materials to help free the world of plastic pollution, focusing on processes to improve production, efficiency and quality.

The company is a sustainable product packaging innovator using materials that can be composited back into the earth's natural resources. They are a new breed to the industry and bring design, engineering and science to the forefront of their manufacturing processes. This is a new position with strong growth potential and backed by heavy investors giving the company a strong backbone to transform the industry.

The role involves developing, optimizing and scaling processes on the pilot line for existing and new material formulations, production and commercial process scales. Work in conjunction with manufacturing partners to create project plans, and design and investigate results to improve production processes. This will offer varied work and no day will be the same.

The Role:

* R&D Polymers Process Engineer - PHA

* Existing and new material formulations including equipment modifications

* Collaborate with materials engineers and external partners to optimize material formulation

* Analyze production processes holistically to identify cost-saving opportunities

Candidate Requirements:

* BS or MS in Engineering - Polymer Science, Chemical or Related

* Interpreting polymer characterization techniques

* CI, Root Cause, Problem Solving, LEAN, 6S
