An opportunity for an ambitious Quantity Surveyor has become available with major civil engineering contractor that are delivering a £500M civil engineering framework.Projects range from £10M-£30M in value and are administered under NEC conditions.
This is a newly created role as a result of a significant, recently awarded tender, the role presents the Quantity Surveyor the opportunity to join a world-class organisation with renowned training and career development programmes and the chance to develop a rewarding long-term career.This is a hybrid working role with two days per week expected on-site or in the office
The Role
- Reporting to the Commercial Manager the Quantity Surveyor's responsibilities will include:
- -Ensure contractual and commercial risks and opportunities are identified to the Project
- Helping to maintain registers of variations, delay, extension times and claims, effective and consistent implementation of the Company's commercial policies and procedures
- -Assist with preparation of monthly progress valuations and claim for work completed
- Assist with pre-Contract tender negotiations & reports where necessary
- -Contribute with the production of monthly cost reports, forecasts, and Contract Budget reports
- -Review value management / value engineering exercises
- -Advise on Risk management & participate in Risk workshop
- -Produce and monitor Commercial / Contractual correspondence and issues to reflect best practice
- Manage sub-contractor accounts and payments
- -Reconcile weekly plant, material, labour reconciliation against budget
- -Monitor main contract- including assisting with and producing Change Reports, Value Change Report
Experienced/Qualifications required Required
- -Suitable Quantity Surveyors will be educated to BSc Quantity Surveying and will be able to demonstrate no less than three years working on civil engineering or utility projects.
- -Confident dealing with stakeholders from different disciplines to establish a complete commercial understanding
