Location - Aylesford, Kent

Salary - Dependent on Experience

Do you have experience of FAI reporting and performing dimensional duties to support manufacturing and internal investigations?

We have an amazing opportunity in Aylesford for a Quality Engineer to work for one of our clients, who is a specialist manufacturer servicing the defence and aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the Control of Nonconforming Products identified in our Value Streams, ensuring that effective and timely containment, correction and prevention measures are deployed to address root cause(s) whilst maintaining communication levels internally
  • Supporting the Value Streams in process improvements, problem-solving and training initiatives
  • Coordinating the setup of IMS Sheets and FAIRs
  • Coordinating the completion of FAIRs in accordance with customer requirements
  • Aiding the management of the calibration of Measuring and Test Equipment in accordance with company procedures
  • Perform internal Quality, Environmental and H&S Audits to establish level of compliance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Assist the Quality team in ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the Quality, Environmental and H&S Systems
  • Support the Quality Team and Business with other duties aligned with this role
  • First off, in process and final inspection using a range of measuring techniques, example CMM, verniers, gauges, etc

Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience gained in a manufacturing/engineering environment
  • Knowledge of EN9100 and ISO14001 is desirable
  • Knowledge of machining plastic and metal parts, hand lay-up, compression, transfer and injection moulding
  • Must have experience of FAI reporting and performing dimensional studies to support manufacturing and internal investigations
  • A working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Auditor experience is desirable, but training can be provided to the right candidate
