As a Quality Control Inspector, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and compliance of intricate components and assemblies. This role involves both visual inspection and the operation of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to assess a wide range of complex parts used in critical applications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct detailed visual inspection of manufactured components for surface defects, dimensional accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
• Operate and program CMM equipment (Mitutoyo, Hexagon, or similar) to perform precise dimensional inspections.
• Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards.
• Record and report non-conformances and assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation for quality control purposes.
• Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure ongoing compliance and quality improvements.
• Travel to various client and company sites across the UK as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Proven experience in a Quality Control, Quality Inspection, or Metrology role within a regulated engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of CMM operation and programming (PC-DMIS or similar software preferred).
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot inconsistencies or defects.
• Proficient in interpreting complex technical drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Good understanding of ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
• Flexible and willing to travel to different locations across the UK.
• Experience within aerospace, defence, nuclear, or medical sectors.
• Formal engineering or quality-related qualifications (e.g., HNC, NVQ, or equivalent).
• Knowledge of additional measurement tools and techniques (e.g., micrometers, shadowgraphs, height gauges).
