Quality Assurance/ Training Officer

Location - Erdington, with travel across the West Midlands and Northamptonshire

Salary - £35k plus £3,500 Car Allowance

Company Overview:

We are currently partnering with an established and growing children’s residential care provider to recruit for a Quality Assurance/ Training Manager.

Overview

The Quality Assurance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the children's home organisation maintains the highest standards of Quality, Safety, and Compliance with relevant UK regulations and guidelines, such as those set by Ofsted. This role involves regular monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on various aspects of the organisation's services to ensure that the children are provided with a safe, nurturing, and enriching environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Compliance Monitoring: Ensure that the organisation is in compliance with all local, regional, and national UK regulations concerning child welfare and residential care, including Ofsted guidelines.

2. Policy Development: Assist in the development, implementation, and review of policies and procedures to ensure they meet UK quality standards and are up to date with current regulations.

3. Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular internal audits and prepare for external inspections by Ofsted or other relevant bodies. Identify areas for improvement and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

4. Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyse data related to the quality of care, including incident reports, staff performance evaluations, and feedback from children and guardians.

5. Training and Development: Coordinate and deliver training for staff

6. Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with staff, management, and external agencies such as local authorities, social services, and healthcare providers to ensure a coordinated approach to quality care.

7. Reporting: Prepare regular reports summarising quality assurance activities, findings, and recommendations. Present these to senior management and, as required, external bodies like Ofsted.

8. Complaint Handling: Manage and investigate complaints from children, parents, or staff, ensuring that issues are resolved in a timely and satisfactory manner in accordance with UK regulations.

9. Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments for various activities and settings within the organisation and recommend mitigations.

10. Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the organisation, encouraging staff to identify opportunities for enhancing quality and efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills

· Level 5 Diploma in Residential Childcare (preferred).

· Relevant experience in quality assurance, residential childcare, or a related field.

· In-depth knowledge of regulations and standards governing residential childcare services.

· Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, management, and regulatory authorities.

· Proficiency in documentation software and record-keeping.

· Strong leadership and team management skills, including conflict resolution and decision-making.

· Continuously assess and adapt problem-solving approaches to evolving needs and situations.

· Upholds and promotes the ethical principles and values of the organisation in all actions and decisions.
