Join our dedicated team at Harrow Council, where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering frontline social work services. We are currently seeking a committed and qualified Social Worker/Senior Social Worker for our First Response Team.
Main Duties / Accountabilities:

- Participate in the council's investors in people (IIP) and individual performance appraisal and development (IPAD) initiatives.

Generic Duties:
- Work in compliance with legislative requirements and corporate priorities.
- Contribute to the formulation of the Service Plan and Team priorities.
- Prepare for regular supervision and reflective practice consultations.
- Undertake necessary training and professional development.
- Ensure efficient and effective assessment, planning, monitoring, and review functions.
- Maintain best practice standards and exercise sound professional judgments.
- Seek guidance and support as needed, particularly concerning child safety and wellbeing.
- Respond to user feedback and cooperate with investigations or resolutions.
- Consult with management regarding budgets and resources.
- Uphold the Council's approach to diversity and health and safety.
- Comply with IT requirements regarding data security and management.
Team Specific / Special Accountabilities:
- Conduct Initial and Core Assessments of children and families, ensuring timely completion and inclusion of necessary services.
- Maintain up-to-date, outcome-focused plans for allocated children.
- Conduct regular visits and communications with children/young people and families.
- Ensure purposeful, sensitive, and respectful direct work with children/young people.
- Prepare and present reports for various purposes, including conferences and court hearings.
- Consult and participate with children/young people, parents/carers, and professionals.
- Establish partnerships with parents/carers and other professionals to secure positive outcomes.
- Bring new referrals to the attention of management promptly.
- Collaborate with relevant parties on casework planning.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., CQSW, Dip SW or equivalent).
- Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council.
- Understanding of statutory duties and responsibilities related to children and families.
- Track record of user consultation, partnership working, and best practice standards.
- Experience in social work practice, including direct work with children and families.
