We are partnering with a highly regarded and forward-thinking manufacturer in their search for a QHSE Senior Officer. This is a pivotal role for a quality professional with solid experience in manufacturing who is looking to step up and play a key part in shaping and leading quality standards across the business.
This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute strategically to the development and continuous improvement of Quality Management Systems. You will act as a key liaison between production, suppliers, and internal teams, ensuring full compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 standards, while also taking a hands-on role in inspections, audits, and root cause analysis.
The successful candidate will be confident in influencing cross-functional teams, managing quality documentation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that meet both internal and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead routine and ad-hoc quality inspections across raw materials, in-process operations, and finished products.
- Oversee the documentation of non-conformances, inspection reports, corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and ensure adherence to company and regulatory standards.
- Proactively manage and resolve customer complaints, perform root cause investigations, and implement long-term CAPA strategies.
- Ensure quality systems and processes comply with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015, while contributing to internal and external audit readiness.
- Support and occasionally lead supplier audits, including domestic and European travel.
- Assist with the development and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance and reduce quality risks.
- Collaborate with Health & Safety colleagues to monitor workplace safety standards and contribute to improvements based on internal assessments and legal compliance.
- Mentor junior quality staff and support wider departmental training where needed.
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment within a quality-focused role.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 (essential).
- High level of attention to detail, analytical thinking, and confidence interpreting technical specifications and data.
- Effective communicator with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
- Strong documentation, reporting, and computer skills (including Microsoft Excel and Word).
- Experience leading or supporting internal and supplier audits.
- Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
Desirable (Not Essential):
- IOSH certification or relevant H&S training.
- Previous supervisory or mentoring experience.
- Familiarity with CAPA software or quality reporting tools.
