QC Technician

Join our team as a QC Technician and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality products in the food and beverage industry. This role involves rigorous in-house QC testing of incoming raw materials, samples, and finished products, under minimal supervision. You will work closely with QC Chemists and management, ensuring compliance with industry standards and enhancing our quality control processes.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Perform all functions and duties required in Laboratory operations.
• Select and prepare standards for comparison with production samples.
• Evaluate incoming raw material samples to ensure they meet specifications.
• Collect, review, and file Certificates of Analysis for all raw materials.
• Document HACCP CCP and OPRP requirements.
• Prepare samples for external testing as necessary.
• Organise, store, clean up, and dispose of QC retained samples.
• Clean and calibrate all QC lab instruments regularly.
• Identify issues within the QC function and recommend solutions.
• Maintain a clean working area and ensure sufficient inventory of lab supplies.
• Establish and implement QC procedures for continuous improvement of department functions.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed.
• Ensure regular maintenance and calibration of instruments.
• Keep adequate stocks of reagents and materials for the Lab.
• Perform standard routine tests (Brix, pH, turbidity, etc.) on products.
• Adhere to all GMPs, GLPs, safety procedures, and test methods and specifications.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Relevant bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
