My client, a global leader in aerospace technology, is seeking an experienced Operational Purchasing Manager to join their UK Purchasing team in Gloucester. What you'll be doing:

As Operational Purchasing Manager, you'll lead and inspire a team of Buyers and Assistant Buyers to deliver operational excellence. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, motivating and performance managing the purchasing team.

  • Driving improvements in cost and service levels from indirect suppliers.

  • Project managing complex purchasing initiatives across the UK business units.

  • Developing and implementing commodity strategies aligned with business needs.

  • Leading strategic and operational negotiations, while supporting buyers in key supplier discussions.

  • Partnering with global purchasing teams, finance, and other stakeholders to ensure value-driven outcomes.

What you'll bring:

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Significant purchasing experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

  • Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation ability.

  • Confidence, credibility, and the ability to work cross-functionally.

  • MCIPS qualification (or equivalent).
