Purchasing Assistant - ASL Recruitment Ltd : Job Details

Our client is an established roofing contractor who deal with a wide range of clients including domestic, commercial and industrial premises. They are currently looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join their hardworking and dedicated team based in Uckfield, East Sussex.  

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience within a purchasing role, experience within the construction industry, possess excellent communication skills, have a strong attention to detail and a high level of confidence with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. As a Purchasing Assistant you will be liaising with suppliers to ensure best rate possible, deal with purchase orders including following up on orders to ensure that materials are shipped and delivered in line with the scheduled dates as well as assisting with the day-to-day operations of the purchasing department.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

• Demonstrable experience within a Purchasing role
• Experience within the construction industry
• Ability to work to strict deadlines whilst staying composed
• Possess excellent communication skills
• Have a strong attention to detail and methodical work approach
• Possess a high level of confidence with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Be a strong team player

Your duties as a Purchasing Assistant would be:

• Liaising with suppliers to ensure best rate possible
• Dealing with purchase orders including following up on orders to ensure that materials are shipped and delivered in line with the scheduled dates
• Assisting with the day-to-day operations of the purchasing department
• Maintaining records and follow up files of purchases, shipments and related matters
• Working with the Accounts team on invoice queries and other related administration when required

Salary:

£28,000 - £32,000 per annum depending on experience

Hours:

Monday – Friday, 8am – 4.30pm
