Job Role: Purchasing Assistant - ASAP Start - FTC

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pmContract: 9 - 12 Month Maternity Cover (Fixed-Term Contract)Location: Haywards Heath - Full-time, Onsite

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to join their busy buying team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in purchasing, procurement, or buying who is looking to further develop their career within a fast-paced and supportive environment.

In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the business sources the best products within their industry. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the buying team with sourcing high-quality products from suppliers.
• Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships to secure the best service and terms.
• Creating and managing purchase orders with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Coordinating the receipt, storage, and dispatch of product samples.
• Monitoring supplier performance, delivery schedules, and project timelines.
• Reviewing product branding for compliance with brand guidelines.
• Maintaining accurate product and supplier data across systems and portals.

We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and thrives in a busy environment. The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in buying, procurement, or purchasing (experience in Manufacturing or Engineering is highly desirable).
• Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
• The ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
