Purchase Ledger Supervisor

• Annual Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
• Location: Bootle, Liverpool – Office-Based
• Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are seeking a Purchase Ledger Supervisor to lead the purchase ledger team of a superb organisation based in Bootle. This role is perfect for someone with previous experience in a similar role or someone ready to step up into a supervisory position. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely processing of supplier invoices, reconciliations, and payments, and will support month-end close, reporting, and continuous process improvement.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Supervise purchase ledger operations and team performance.
• Process and code high-volume invoices including fuel, parts, and maintenance.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage weekly fuel reports, credit card postings, and intercompany recharges.
• Oversee supplier payments and direct debits.
• Produce weekly PO reports and analyse spend.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve invoice and PO queries.
• Support audits and month-end close activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in purchase ledger/accounts payable, ideally in a supervisory role.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Familiarity with financial systems and processes.
• Desirable: AAT qualification (or studying), Sage 200 experience, knowledge of fleet/logistics purchasing.
