Purchase Ledger Supervisor

  • Location: Maidenhead
  • Job Type: Full-time (Hybrid – 3 days p/w from office)
  • Salary: £30,000
  • Hours: 9am – 5pm

We are seeking a Purchase Ledger Supervisor to oversee our purchase ledger activities, ensuring the highest service levels for our business operations. This role is integral to maintaining our company’s financial health and requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and excellent leadership skills.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Act as a second in charge to the Purchase Ledger Manager, managing the purchase ledger team to deliver expected performance levels.
  • Ensure fair work allocation and sufficient cover for absences within the team.
  • Take ownership of the Purchase Ledger inbox, assisting the team in prioritising their workload.
  • Oversee the correct processing of invoices to the appropriate GL codes.
  • Conduct weekly payment runs for two companies within the business and handle ad-hoc same-day payments.
  • Review and action aged creditors, reconcile direct debit accounts, and handle lease invoices, council taxes, and utility account reconciliations.
  • Manage the processing of approximately 200-250 supplier statements per month, ensuring proactive account management.
  • Register and verify CIS Suppliers on HMRC, communicate with vendors regarding invoice discrepancies, and promote correct reissuance.
  • Foster a culture of positive relationships within the team and across the company to promote the ‘One Team’ ethos.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience supervising a team in a transactional finance role.
  • Familiarity with Business Central/Navision is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) is advantageous.
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
  • Methodical and accurate with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel to various holiday parks around the country.
