They need someone to take ownership of the Purchase Ledger function across two legal entities and managing a small team.
What you'll actually be doing:
- Making sure weekly supplier payment runs don't go rogue
- Keeping cashflow sharp and predictable
- Leading the team on invoice posting, reconciliations, credit chasing
- Handling supplier queries (mainly the ones that make it past the frontline)
- Talking to the buying team like a human, not a spreadsheet
- Running team meetings, coaching, and keeping standards high without being a micromanager
- Sorting things before they become fires
- Supporting with reporting, including the new shiny sustainability data stuff
What you won't be doing:
- Sitting in back-to-back meetings all week
- Fighting red tape just to get a £48 invoice approved
- Chasing people who don't know what PO stands for
