Purchase Ledger Clerk
  • Annual Salary: £23,000 - £26,000pa
  • Location: Yalding - driving and access to own transport recommended
  • Job Type: Permanent and full-time (37.5 hours per week)
  • Working Arrangements:  Hybrid - 2 days in the office and 3 days from home

We are seeking a meticulous and reliable Purchase Ledger Clerk to join a finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on accuracy, enjoys working with numbers, and takes pride in keeping financial records clean and up to date. As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you'll play a key part in ensuring our suppliers are paid correctly and on time, and that our accounts reflect the true financial picture.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Process supplier invoices, credit notes, and payments accurately and efficiently.
  • Match purchase orders with invoices and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Maintain the purchase ledger and ensure all entries are correctly coded.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on outstanding items.
  • Assist with month-end procedures and reporting.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve queries.
  • Support the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Good working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
