Purchase Ledger Clerk - Robert Walters : Job Details

We are working closely with a forward thinking business based in Salford Quays who are looking for a Purchase Ledger to join their growing finance team! This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a growing company and to progress in your career! They are looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to work within a smaller team and help support the Purchase Ledger Manager and wider finance function in supporting the smooth running of the Accounts Payable department.

• Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data.
• Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies by reconciling vendor accounts and reviewing monthly vendor statements.
• Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
• Generate reports detailing accounts payable status.
• Understand expense accounts and cost centers.

• Proven working experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk.
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
• Ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
• Data entry skills and a knack for numbers.
• Proficiency in English and MS Office.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
