We are seeking a Proposals & Tenders Manager to lead our team in the development and submission of competitive and compliant bids for new projects. This pivotal role ensures the financial viability of bids and their alignment with strategic goals. The successful candidate will possess a proven track record in bid management, exceptional leadership abilities, and the skill to manage complex stakeholder relationships.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Lead and manage the proposals and tendering team, setting objectives and monitoring performance.
  • Oversee the tendering process from identification to submission, ensuring all bids meet compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with Finance to accurately forecast revenue and expenditure for each bid.
  • Develop strategies to enhance bid quality and competitiveness.
  • Compile bid submissions by working across departments, ensuring accuracy and appeal.
  • Support the Customer Manager in developing the opportunity pipeline and pursuing tender opportunities.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including parent company stakeholders, to align bids with company strategies and governance procedures.
  • Present high-value tenders for review and approval, adhering to corporate governance standards.
  • Uphold quality and compliance by reviewing and approving all bid documents before submission.
  • Provide leadership in bid writing, presentation, and negotiation techniques.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices.
  • Analyse bid outcomes and implement lessons learned to improve future submissions.
  • Identify unsolicited business opportunities and investigate tools and processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Support post-bid activities, including client clarifications and presentations.
  • Travel within the UK and overseas as required and attend business meetings.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong track record in managing successful bids.
  • Excellent leadership skills and the ability to set clear team objectives.
  • Experience in navigating complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to forecast financial aspects of bids and ensure strategic alignment.
  • Proficiency in bid writing, presentation, and negotiation.
  • Knowledge of GDPR/data protection legislation and compliance with company policies.
