We’re looking for a Property Surveyor to join our forward-thinking Property Directorate. In this vital role, you’ll take ownership of complex repairs, structural issues, and major defects—delivering high-quality outcomes that ensure safety, compliance, and value for money for our residents.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Act as the subject matter expert for diagnosing and resolving complex building faults across our housing stock.
- Manage a diverse caseload including disrepair claims, damp and mould cases, insurance works, and specialist repairs.
- Conduct thorough inspections and apply your expertise in building pathology, HHSRS, and damp diagnostics to identify and categorise hazards.
- Provide technical advice and post-inspection support to colleagues, ensuring consistency and quality across all works.
- Contribute to planned works and service improvements through innovation and professional insight.
- Review home improvement requests with a focus on safeguarding long-term asset integrity.
- Collaborate across teams to enhance service delivery and the resident experience.
What We’re Looking For
- A strong background in diagnosing and resolving complex property issues within housing or similar environments.
- In-depth knowledge of housing construction, maintenance diagnostics, and the NHF Schedule of Rates.
- Expertise in damp and mould diagnostics and a solid understanding of the HHSRS framework.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues in a clear, resident-friendly manner.
- A proactive, resident-focused approach with a commitment to getting things right the first time.
- Experience working collaboratively with both technical and non-technical teams.
Additional Information
- This role involves working with vulnerable adults. A basic DBS check will be required upon offer, and renewed every three years.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use is essential.
