Central Administrator – Utilities Focus (Commercial Property Management)

?? Location: North London ?? Hours: Full-time, 8:30am – 5:30pm (1-hour lunch)?? Contract Type: Permanent?? Salary: up to £30k depending on experience

About the Role

Are you an organised and detail-oriented administrator with experience in utilities management within a commercial property environment? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic well established property investment company working within the property management team, where you’ll play a key role in coordinating utility services across a diverse portfolio of commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utility Account Management:
    • Set up and close electricity, gas, and water accounts for commercial properties.
    • Liaise with utility providers to resolve billing issues and service interruptions.
    • Maintain accurate records of providers, contracts, and account details.
    • Coordinate meter readings and ensure timely submissions.
    • Update account information during tenant transitions.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Assist with general property management administration.
    • Maintain internal systems and trackers for utilities and compliance.
    • Collaborate with property managers and finance teams.
  • Finance & Invoicing:
    • Submit utility-related invoices for processing.
    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
    • Track invoice status and ensure timely payments.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in commercial property management or utilities administration.
  • Strong understanding of utility billing and account setup.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with tenants, contractors, and providers.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Organised, methodical, and able to manage multiple tasks.

Desirable

  • Experience with utility procurement or contract negotiation.
  • Familiarity with property management systems.
  • Exposure to compliance and health & safety processes.
