Safer Wales is an independent charity whose mission is to support, protect and empower groups of people that are often invisible in society.

About Us

The StreetLife Project is a leading specialist service supporting people who have experienced or are at risk of sexual exploitation. We work in partnership with statutory and voluntary agencies to empower survivors, challenge exploitation, and raise awareness through education and advocacy.

The Role

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Project Worker to join our dedicated team. You will support individuals who have experienced, or are vulnerable to, sexual exploitation — including grooming, trafficking, and survival sex. This role involves working directly with clients to provide trauma-informed, person-centred support that promotes safety, recovery, and empowerment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one emotional and practical support to service users.
  • Complete holistic risk and needs assessments and develop tailored support plans.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients with other agencies, including police, housing, and social care.
  • Support clients to access appropriate services (e.g., counselling, legal support, sexual health).
  • Facilitate group work or workshops focused on safety, wellbeing, and empowerment.
  • Maintain accurate case records and contribute to monitoring and evaluation.
  • Participate in multi-agency meetings and safeguarding processes as required.
  • Participate in evening outreach
  • Deliver training to professionals

About You

We’re looking for someone who is trauma-aware, resilient, and passionate about empowering vulnerable individuals. You should have:

  • Experience working with individuals affected by abuse, exploitation, or complex trauma.
  • Knowledge of the issues surrounding sexual exploitation, including risk factors and safeguarding.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.
  • A non-judgemental, empathetic, and inclusive approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant qualification or equivalent experience — e.g., social work, youth work, counselling.

What We Offer

  • A supportive and inclusive working environment.
  • Regular reflective supervision and training opportunities.
  • Access to employee wellbeing services.
  • Opportunities to develop specialist skills in safeguarding and trauma-informed practice.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds and are particularly keen to hear from individuals with lived experience or those from underrepresented communities. Appointments will be subject to references, and an enhanced DBS check.
