- Working Hours: 8:30 am till 4:30 pm.
We are seeking a proactive Project Officer to join the Economic Development and Regeneration Service team at Bolton Council. This role involves engaging with local residents, some facing complex challenges, to support their integration into work, skills, and training opportunities. The successful candidate will play a key role in the economic development and regeneration strategies within the Borough.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide information, advice, and guidance through individual and group activities to help local residents overcome barriers and achieve specified outcomes.
- Maintain relationships with clients, businesses, and service providers to ensure our services meet needs effectively, make the best use of resources, and achieve strategic and contractual targets.
- Manage accurate information systems to record client requirements and outcomes, and provide performance reports as needed.
- Implement action plans and activities in key sectors important to the Borough’s economic development and community groups to realise regeneration plans.
- Work closely with other providers, employers, and key funders to develop partnership working and undertake joint activities on enterprise promotion, employability issues, client engagement, and strategic initiatives.
- Stay informed about relevant legislation and industry standards to assist in the delivery of various projects.
- Contribute positively to the team and the wider service, acting as a first point of contact for clients and projects that promote employment and enterprise within the Borough.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in community engagement, economic development, or a related field.
- Strong ability to plan, implement strategies, and manage projects.
- Excellent relationship-building skills with a variety of stakeholders including residents, businesses, and service providers.
- Proficient in managing information systems and producing detailed reports.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing environments and service demands.
- Commitment to valuing diversity and promoting equality.
