Project Manager - SEND Transformation
?? Location: Mainly remote with possibly 1/2 days a month in the South-West

A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to lead and drive a critical phase of a SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Transformation programme. You will work on high-impact initiatives supporting better outcomes for children and young people with SEND, and helping shape a more inclusive, responsive education system across the city.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as strategic lead for the SEND strategy, inclusion and attendance, with oversight of planning, delivery, and stakeholder engagement.
- Drive progress against the Safety Valve monitoring requirements and maintain strong governance structures.
- Lead the coordination and reporting of the DSG Deficit Management Plan.
- Deliver key programmes on time, to budget, and aligned to strategic goals using recognised project management methodologies.
- Maintain integrated project plans across complex interdependencies, and provide accurate forecasting, reporting and risk management.
- Lead project teams, support delivery boards, and provide clear, consistent leadership and communication.
- Regularly report progress to senior leadership including Directors and Executive Directors.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Proven experience delivering transformation programmes within SEND, education, or local government contexts.
- Strong background in managing complex change programmes with a clear focus on inclusion, education and service delivery improvement.
- Sound knowledge of project management methodologies such as PRINCE2, MSP or Agile.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills-able to influence at all levels.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced, multi-agency environments.
- A strategic thinker with strong delivery credentials and the ability to bring clarity and structure to complexity.
- Familiarity with SEND improvement strategies, funding structures and national priorities would be highly beneficial.
