Job Description :

We are hiring a Project Managment Associate to join a not-for-profit organisation which offers structured technical assistance to support governments, industry, and civil society to accelerate the global clean energy transition.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, impact-driven organisation playing a pivotal role in the continued growth of offshore wind and the global energy transition. You will be setting up, managing and effectively reporting on a global spread of diverse projects across the domains of Politics, Engineering and Civil Society as they scale their organisation to 10 countries.

You will be responsible for

  • A portfolio of between 5 and 10 projects at a time, across several countries
  • Setting up projects adhering to the programme procedures and file structures
  • Weekly liaison with contracted in-country and regional consultants to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of your project portfolio against project and financial milestones and deliverables
  • Assist the Programme Director with drafting TORs and work plans, assessing candidates and recruiting consultants to deliver projects
  • Assist the Programme Director with developing, updating and maintaining Country Plans and assessing projects within them for successful delivery and achievement of desired OSW development, overall OEP strategy and country-specific goals

This role requires you to work flexibly to meet sometimes very tight project and programme deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for renewable energy and sustainability, even if they haven’t worked in the sector before.

Reports to: The role will report to the OEP’s Global Programmes Director and will play an important part in setting project priorities and ensuring successful project delivery and the hitting of key milestones. The role holder will work closely with the Measurement Evaluation and Learning lead who is also being actively recruited for at the same time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Management
  • Setting up projects on the OEP systems including MS Project, Monday etc and recording projects in the country plans with clear deliverables to demonstrate OEP mission progress.
  • Arrange and lead regular calls with in country consultants to monitor project progress and flag any early signs of deliverables or cost overruns
  • RFP and tendering to recruit consultants to project specifications (25%)
  • Prepare tender documents and create RFPs to be posted
  • Coordinate tender responses and present options to the Programme Director
  • Assist the Programme Director with building, updating and maintaining Country Plans (15%)
  • Assisting the Programme Director with interpretation of the overall OEP strategy and formulating work programmes and projects that help move the dail to achieve the strategy in a deliverable and measurable fashion. (10%)

Experience and Skills

Required:

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) preferably in Policy, Social or Physical Sciences, Engineering or related field

Experience of generating tender documentation, RFPs, PQQs etc

International project management experience

Project management software experience

Stakeholder management skills
