Are you an NEC contracts expert with a passion for delivering complex engineering projects in the rail sector? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments where confident decision-making and technical leadership are key?
We are working with a business looking to grow their team with a Project Engineer on a hybrid basis, based in Whiteley, leading the successful delivery of rail infrastructure projects across the UK. This is a high-impact role at the heart of a business driving innovation in signalling, systems, and electronics.
?? Key Responsibilities
- Lead full project lifecycle delivery under NEC3/NEC4 contracts, ensuring compliance with cost, schedule, quality, and safety standards.
- Manage contractual processes including early warnings, compensation events, change control, and payment mechanisms.
- Coordinate internal teams, contractors, and clients to ensure timely delivery of designs, documentation, and data.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project plans using tools like MS Project, Teamcenter, and CDE platforms.
- Identify and mitigate risks, delays, and scope changes through proactive project controls.
- Report progress to senior leadership and represent the project in both technical and commercial forums.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Foster strong stakeholder relationships and lead cross-functional teams to project success.
? What We’re Looking For
- Expert knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3 or NEC4) and their practical application in engineering projects.
- Commercially astute individual, with proven experience in infrastructure or rail projects, ideally within signalling or systems.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Teamcenter, CDEs).
- Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
- Membership (or working towards) of APM, PRINCE2, RICS, or similar professional body.
