Project Engineer
  • Annual Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

We are seeking a Project Engineer to lead projects from a technical standpoint, working alongside other departments to translate customer requirements into internal design requirements. This role involves interfacing with the workshop to ensure compliance with design, inspecting work, reviewing design for project work, coordinating and performing testing activities, and developing technical documentation.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Translate client requirements into practical terms for implementation by the team.
  • Interface with the Project Manager and Project Team to ensure project compliance with specifications.
  • Review technical drawings and documents before issuing to customers or releasing to the workshop.
  • Create project-related testing procedures and manuals.
  • Verify bills of materials in line with project requirements.
  • Assist in the research and identification of component purchasing and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers.
  • Conduct internal inspection and testing of project-related systems and equipment.
  • Collaborate with the team to carry out Factory Acceptance Tests with customer representatives/inspectors.
  • Perform site commissioning for complex projects when required.
  • Maintain and review technical specifications and industry standards related to product manufacture.
  • Monitor the Tech Support email account and liaise with customers to resolve technical issues or queries.
  • Adapt to the needs of a developing and diverse manufacturing organisation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • HND/HNC in Electrical Engineering or a similar engineering field.
  • Experience in a project-driven environment.
  • Experience as a test engineer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in electrical testing and producing technical documents.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Office Package.
  • A proactive approach to role tasks.
  • Logical approach to role tasks
Desirable:
  • Experience with PLC systems.
  • Experience with HMI systems and IoT.
  • Knowledge of cable and protection equipment sizing.
  • Experience with power distribution systems.
  • Understanding of Hazardous area requirements.

Salary : 35000 - 45000
