Project Assurance Officer

Location: Bristol based Public Sector Organisation – Hybrid

Duration: 4 months initial contract

Rate: £280 per day Umbrella

Hours: 37 per week 

IR35 Status: Inside IR35

Your duties will include:

• Identify and understand council financial commitments, risks to the council, and ensure these are properly recorded and escalated as required. Implement a mechanism for showing Value for Money on projects
• Ensure necessary permissions required from the council are in place or planned
• Work with relevant council departments and working groups to identify council project proposals for projects
• Review Strategic Partner produced performance & measurement reports and underlying data against projects within scope in order to measure project performance. If necessary, agreeing measures to improve performance of projects within scope. In addition, acting as the interface between project & other council departments for performance & financial reporting
• Support project Contract Manager in assessing how projects within scope are meeting overall performance targets & where necessary agreeing mitigation measures with Strategic Partner. Support the Programme Assurance Manager and Function Service Manager in the agreement of the Business Plans
• Support senior officers where necessary with the council owned tasks for other project processes for projects in the Project Assurance Managers scope – e.g. contract change, audit, benchmarking and remedial planning

Required skills and experience:

• Experience of contractor, supplier, consultant or staff management
• Experience of researching, analysing and supporting the development of bids or business propositions or procurement
• Experience of managing project/operational resources including monitoring and reporting, prioritisation and financial management
• Prior project experience within Regeneration directorate
