Location: Greater Manchester | Contract Type: Temporary | Hours: Full-Time/Part-Time | Salary: £20+ per hour

As a Progress Attendance Coach, you’ll be a key figure in promoting student wellbeing, engagement, and progression. You’ll work closely with learners, tutors, and support teams to identify barriers, monitor attendance, and provide tailored interventions that foster resilience, motivation, and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to learners around personal development, attendance, and academic progress
  • Monitor attendance and punctuality, identifying patterns and implementing strategies to improve engagement
  • Liaise with curriculum staff, safeguarding teams, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for learners
  • Deliver workshops and interventions on topics such as mental health, motivation, time management, and study skills
  • Maintain accurate records of interventions, attendance, and learner progress
  • Support learners in setting and achieving personal and academic goals
  • Promote a positive college culture that values wellbeing, inclusion, and achievement

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Experience working with young people in an educational, youth work, or support setting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, mental health, and barriers to learning
  • Ability to manage caseloads and maintain accurate records
  • A proactive, empathetic, and solution-focused approach
  • A relevant qualification in education, youth work, counselling, or support (or willingness to work towards one)
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive practice
  • DBS on the update service, or the willingness to apply for one
