Job Title: Production Supervisor - Food/ Fresh Produce Location: Near Howden, East YorkshireSalary: £33,696 + BenefitsHours: 48 hours/week, 5-day rota including weekends and bank holidaysReporting To: Harvesting ManagerRole OverviewSupporting the Harvesting Manager, you will oversee daily harvesting activities, ensuring high-quality standards, efficiency, and team motivation. This hands-on leadership role includes maintaining hygiene, health & safety compliance, and optimising labour across harvesting operations. You will also cover in the absence of the Harvesting Manager.Key Responsibilities• Coordinate and allocate staff within harvesting areas for maximum output• Monitor product quality (e.g., size, presentation)• Enforce hygiene, health & safety, and product specifications• Motivate and train harvesters to achieve performance targets• Conduct pre- and post-harvest checks and manage forecasts• Ensure accurate documentation and tool control• Liaise with other departments to maintain smooth operations• Support compliance with food safety (HACCP, VACCP, TACCP) standards• Maintain cleanliness using clean as you go principles• Support continuous improvement initiativesKey Requirements• Supervisory experience in a fresh produce or food manufacturing environment• Excellent people management and communication skills• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities• IT and numerical competency• Willingness to work flexibly, including weekends and changing shift times• Basic Food Hygiene certificate (required); HACCP (desirable)Benefits• 28 days holiday (incl. bank holidays)• 3% employer pension contribution (after qualifying period)• Training and development opportunities• Workplace pension enrolment after 3 months• Paid overtime for hours beyond contracted 48/weekImportant Information: We endeavour to process your personal data in a fair and transparent manner.
