Role - Production PlannerSalary - £28,000 (+ annual bonus potential of £1.5K)Location – TraffordType – PermanentHours - 37.5hr week; Mon-Thurs 08:30 to 17:00 (45min Lunch), Fri 08:30 to 16:00 (1hr Lunch)

Reed are currently working with a multinational manufacturing company who are looking to recruit a permanent Production Planner to join their team.

The client is seeking a detail-oriented Production Planner to join the team, responsible for creating, modifying, and managing production schedules. The ideal candidate will ensure the smooth and cost-efficient flow of our production operations, monitoring inventory levels, and facilitating the timely delivery of products to customers.

Day-to-day of the role:• Review sales forecasts and current orders to assess inventory status and upcoming production needs.• Create, evaluate, and modify purchase orders to support developed production schedules.• Verify resource availability (material, equipment, and labour) for production, aiming to deliver excellent customer service at optimal inventory levels.• Address and resolve production issues promptly to minimize delays.• Recommend solutions to reduce production costs and improve processes and product quality.• Monitor and adjust production schedules to meet customer service deadlines.• Compile status and performance reports, submitting them to management in a timely manner.• Inform relevant departments of changes to current production schedules.• Participate in the development and implementation of an improved Production Planning system.• Source suppliers based on price, availability, necessity, quality, and logistical expenses, and evaluate their performance.• Collaborate with internal departments to ensure purchase requirements are met.• Create and update purchase orders, monitor shipments, and ensure timely arrival of goods.• Resolve invoice/PO discrepancies to authorize payment.• Issue and track credit requests for vendor issues.• Negotiate price, credit terms, discounts, packaging, and shipping methods with suppliers.• Maintain vendor and item records in the online system.• Assist with special projects, reporting, and tasks as needed.• Build and maintain positive, long-term supplier relations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:• Proven experience in production planning• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.• Good communication and negotiation abilities.• Proficiency in MS Office and production planning software.• Knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.• Familiarity with quality standards and health & safety regulations.
