Production Area Manager

• Annual Salary: £48,000
• Location: Colchester
• Job Type: Full-time - 3 month contract

Join an esteemed organisation, established in 1909 and a leader in HVAC products and solutions. Our client are seeking a Production Area Manager (PAM) to oversee operations in their Colchester facility. This role is crucial for driving continuous improvement across all KPIs and embodying core values of ambition, entrepreneurship, accountability, and teamwork.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Safety Management: Conduct safety audits, lead H&S investigations, and ensure compliance with health standards.
• People Leadership: Manage team attendance, handle people management issues, and oversee training and development plans. Act as the direct point of contact for all agency staff issues.
• Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the Quality and OPEX teams to define control measures, audit processes, and conduct quality investigations.
• Operational Delivery: Define and review KPIs, ensure the delivery of the production plan, and manage the SIOP forecast. Audit and review SOPs and collaborate on business continuity plans.
• Cost Management: Lead cost reduction initiatives and plan capacity models in alignment with the budget.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in production leadership and management.
• Strong background in 'lean' manufacturing techniques.
• Proven track record of exceeding deliverable targets.
• Familiarity with the SMART objective model.
• Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
• Strong verbal and numerical reasoning skills.
