Job Description :

Futures Recruitment is working with a leading manufacturing business to appoint a proactive and experienced Production Manager.

This is a key role within the production team, responsible for leading daily operations, supervising a small team of operatives and team leaders, and driving performance through continuous improvement and lean practises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure products meet required quality standards through inspections, audits, and timely corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the Production Manager and HR to develop and implement leadership and development programmes to support individual and team growth.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor team members, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Create and maintain succession plans to ensure long-term team and business sustainability.
  • Allocate work orders and oversee daily workflows to meet production schedules and deadlines.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and drive improvements through lean manufacturing strategies.
  • Enforce a safe working environment in line with company policies and health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of production output, quality checks, attendance, and operational performance.
  • Regularly report on performance metrics, quality issues, improvement initiatives, and operational risks.
  • Work cross-functionally with departments such as Engineering, Planning, and Quality to align on production goals and resolve issues.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a production or manufacturing supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and safety.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with production tracking systems.
