Elevation Recruitment Group is working in partnership with a leading manufacturing business in Rotherham to recruit an Production Machine Operator to join their expanding production team. Health & Safety

• Operate machinery in line with company safety standards and procedures.

• Complete pre-start checks and ensure all safety features are operational.

• Promptly report any hazards or near misses and take corrective action where appropriate.

• Wear and maintain personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

• Attend regular safety briefings and training sessions.

Product Quality

• Monitor key quality parameters such as gauge, clarity, bubble size, and sealability.

• Conduct and document regular quality checks.

• Identify defects early and adjust processes to minimise scrap and rework.

• Liaise with the quality team to resolve issues efficiently.

Efficiency & Operation

• Set up, operate, and shut down extrusion lines effectively.

• Maximise production uptime and minimise unplanned downtime.

• Adjust process variables (e.g., temperature, speed, pressure) to ensure optimal operation.

• Diagnose and resolve equipment issues quickly.

• Maintain a clean, tidy, and efficient work environment.

• Ideally 1-2 years' experience in a plastic extrusion or manufacturing environment (experience with bubble film or flexible packaging is desirable, but full training will be provided).

• Understanding of blown film extrusion and resin handling systems is advantageous.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and good troubleshooting ability.

• Able to read and understand technical documentation and specifications.
