Product Technologist - Seven : Job Details

Our client:

• This Product Technologist role is a newly created role and is ideal for an individual who wants to progress their career in a highly successful environment with great development opportunities. The role was created in a company restructuring with plans to expand from 730 to 1000 own brand products over the next two to three years.
• Excellent Flexible working - 2 days a week in the office and the rest from home. Occasional travel to suppliers (UK & Europe) required as part of the role.

The role:

• As a Product Technologist you will look after the own brand products across ambient, grocery and impulse categories.
• The Product Technologist will be responsible for supporting the process and quality controller to maintain and develop effective procedures for quality assurance, ensuring that all brand quality, food and product safety stage gates are met.
• As a Product Technologist you will be responsible for monitoring product quality and food safety to develop improvement plans across the own brand categories to reduce complaints.
• Working in an efficient and effective manner, the product technologist will work to ensure that all products remain compliant with current and upcoming legislation and represent the business at appropriate meetings.
• The Product Technologist will be responsible for supporting the technical manager on supplier visits, in the UK and Europe, performing product audits, managing compliance, and representing the company in industry meetings.
• The Product Technologist will also have the opportunity to support new product launches in line with current business objectives, ensuring product quality and compliance throughout.
• You will also get involved in emerging risk analysis and ensure that any relevant output from an ‘early warning’ system are actioned appropriately.

Ideal candidate:

• Relevant degree or equivalent in food/technical qualifications.
• You must have 2-3 years’ experience working in a similar or associated food role
• HACCP level 3
• Experience managing an emerging risk system (food fraud)
• Collaborative team player who has great attention to detail and a get-it-done attitude
• You must have indefinite right to work in the UK, unfortunately this role does not offer sponsorship to candidates on a PSW visa or other.
