Procurement SpecialistLocation: Edmonton, London Salary: £40,000-£50,000 per annum + bonusWe are seeking a highly skilled and commercially minded Procurement Specialist to join a fast-growing group operating across a multi-brand wholesale group combining sector-specific knowledge with shared supply chain excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating and managing supplier relationships for a wide range of products from key commodities to trending consumer brands, ensuring quality, value and continuity of supply.This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with suppliers, internal teams and stakeholders to deliver cost efficiencies, secure the best deals and support product innovation.Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing & Buying: Procure a diverse range of products, ensuring competitive pricing and reliable supply.
- Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships, conducting performance reviews and fostering collaboration.
- Commodity Procurement: Manage purchasing for key commodities, maintaining price stability and consistent quality.
- Market Insight: Track industry trends, market movements and innovations to anticipate risks and capitalise on opportunities
- Product Development: Collaborate with commercial teams to source and launch new products in line with customer demand and business strategy.
- Stock Planning: Work with planning and operations teams to align procurement with forecasts and inventory requirements.
- Cost & Performance Tracking: Monitor spend, track savings and report on supplier performance metrics.
- Compliance: Ensure procurement processes meet company policies, contractual requirements and relevant regulations.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in procurement or buying, ideally within the FMCG sector.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to achieve best value while maintaining supplier trust.
- Commercial acumen with an understanding of pricing, margins and supply chain optimisation.
- Experience or knowledge of commodity purchasing.
- Highly organised, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ERP/procurement system experience is preferred.
